The story begins with a young man waking up inside of a new gated community, but instead of facing his regular 9 to 5, he’s facing a 20 to life. For someone who’s never even received a speeding ticket, Cillian Knight finds the last morsels of his sanity threatening to crumble away as he comprehends existence minute by minute, meal by meal.

The revolving doors of jail provide plenty of fresh meat for the story, and a sprinkle of spice is added when a sadistic guard decides to make the lonely Knight her new pet.
